PoE2 Best Spear Leveling Setup: Early Game

No fancy gear, no hours of preparation - just two skills, some power, and a knack for stomping mobs. Rake and Stomping Ground are the stars here, shredding Act 1 like it's nothing - boss included. Core Setup: Rake + Stomping Ground

This duo’s a no-gear wrecking crew—here’s the guts:  Rake (Tier 2): Jump in, slash, trigger Stomping Ground multiple times per cast. Patch 0.2.0 keeps it zippy - faster than Stampede, less clank.  Stomping Ground (Support): Buffed from 80% to 100-150% physical damage - each hop is a shockwave. Power stacks, damage spikes.Rake is a mini-rocket; Stomping Ground is the payload - multiple hits melt packs. No spear stats needed - strength is your fuel. Makes Act 1 a breeze.

Early boosts: Gems and Passives

Slap these on to crank the pain:  Marshall Tempo: Link to Rake speeds it up, more stomps, more carnage. (Brutality's 25% more phys also works, but feels sluggish early - swap in later).  Passive tree: Rush Beef (Strength node) - each point is free damage for Stomping Ground. Grab Blade Catcher next - more power, more beef. Skip Fluff-two wasted points hurt, fix it fast.Cheap gems, easy tree-patch 0.2.0's power buff (Stomping Ground tweak) makes this hit hard, no fuss.

Bonus skills: Mobility and Boss Prep round it out:  

Disengage: Low-cooldown dodge-point back, zip forward (think League's Caitlyn E). Extra mobility for kiting or gap closing.  Spearfield + Rage: Drop it before a boss sticks rage (3 per hit), pumps physical damage. Stuns also help bosses eat it.  Herald of Blood: 15% Blood Loss explosions - not core early, but clears packs once you get it.Disengage keeps you alive; Spearfield sets up the kill. Patch 0.2.0's physical scaling (Herald buff) adds juice - bosses bleed easily.

Gear: Bare Bones, Big Wins

No gear? No problem - here's the dirt:  Spear: White's fine-Rake's damage is secondary, Stomping Ground's strength-driven. Grab Phys if you can - nice, but not essential.  Other slots: Health (1k+ early), Strength (50-100), resists when lucky rares drop, use 'em. Helmet from a yellow chest? Put it on.Patch 0.2.0's chaos market is flooded with junk grab strength rares on the cheap. You're a brick with spikes, not a glass cannon.

Playstyle: Leap, Stomp, Slaughter

Leap with Rake—Stomping Ground triggers, packs pop. Rare? Rake 'til they drop - exalted orbs sometimes spill. Bosses (Torture Lock from Act 1)? Spearfield, dodge big hits, Rake spam - stunlocks and 150% Strength damage chew them up. No charms? Tank it-strength carries.Fast, dirty, effective - patch 0.2.0's Stomping Ground buff makes it a one-skill blender. Boss dies in a minute, no gear required.
